Founded in 2026 by concert pianist James Palmer, Point of Departure: Houston’s Classical Music Variety Show brings together the best performers in Houston in a 1970’s variety show-style format. Expect skits, costumes, banter, and more!

New music is at the heart of Point of Departure’s mission. Season 1 will feature three incredible premieres of works by star composers — Karim Al-Zand, Sam Wu, and Nicky Sohn. Learn more about these composers here.
